Five-Day Biomedical Practical Session at Dr. RPGMC, Tanda

The annual five-day biomedical practical session at the Department of Anatomy and Physiology, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, was successfully conducted for the medical students (academic years 2024–25 and 2025–26) of Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa Rigpa Medical College and Hospital, Dharamsala.


The five-day program included visits to the Pathology and Anatomy Museums, daily two-hour practical anatomy classes, and two to three hours of practical physiology sessions. The anatomy classes covered the Thorax; Heart and Respiratory System; Abdomen and Pelvis; Central Nervous System; Head and Neck; and Upper and Lower Limbs. The physiology sessions included practical demonstrations such as the Tuning Fork Test for hearing loss, Blood Pressure measurement, and basic respiratory system examinations.

The anatomy classes were conducted professionally by Dr. Rahul Dhiman (Junior Resident) and Dr. Shivangi Bhat (MO Specialist, Anatomy) under the guidance of Dr. (Prof.) Vishal Kalia, Head of the Department of Anatomy. The physiology sessions were delivered energetically by Dr. (Prof.) Sapna Bhardwaj, Head of the Department of Physiology, assisted by Dr. Shilpa (Junior Resident) and Dr. Taranpreet Kaur (Junior Resident). The Pathology and Anatomy Museums were thoroughly explained by the assigned staff members of the respective departments. The session was attended by eight medical students from the academic year 2024–25 and nine medical students from 2025–26, along with four faculty members from Men-Tsee-Khang College.

The program was highly appreciated by both students and faculty, and it significantly enriched their knowledge and practical understanding of these subjects. The faculties and students of Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa Rigpa Medical College extend their heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to Dr. Milap Sharma, Principal of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, as well as to the Heads of Departments, assisting doctors, and staff members of the Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology Departments for their time, dedication, and guidance in making this program a great success.
