
A group of 36 students and 6 faculty members from Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College visited Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College, Paprola for an educational tour on December 5, 2025. The tour was guided by Dr. Manik Soni, Reader/Associate Professor of Kayachikitsa, along with postgraduate scholar Dr. Sajan Verma.
The delegation was first taken to the Department of Dravya Guna, where the dry specimens in the department museum, the potted medicinal plants, and the herbal garden were introduced and explained in detail.


The Sowa-Rigpa students showed particular interest in visiting the Department of Sharira Rachana. The anatomical specimens displayed in the anatomy museum and the dissection hall were thoroughly explained by Prof. Dr. Ram Mohan Singh Kushwah, Head of the Anatomy Department. The group also explored the Physiology Laboratory of the Sharira Kriya Department.
Further, the delegation visited the Department of Kayachikitsa, including its OPD, in-patient rooms, Minor OT room, and Panchakarma OPD. Demonstrations and explanations were provided on Swedana (sudation therapy), Nasya (nasal therapy), Raktamokshana (bloodletting therapy)—particularly leech therapy—and Marma therapy. The team also visited the Stree Roga Clinical Department OPD located within the hospital.
In the afternoon, the students and faculty visited the museum of the Department of Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, which houses various samples of Rasa dravyas, along with its pharmacy unit. The visit was guided by Dr. Aashish from the same department.

The six faculty members from Men-Tsee-Khang—Dr. Tenzin Lhundup, Dr. Mr. Migmar, Dr. Mrs. Migmar, Dr. Penpa Dhondup, and Dr. Sonam Dolkar Oshoe—led by Vice-Principal Dr. Namdol Lhamo, held a special meeting with Dr. Vijay Chaudhary, Dean (Faculty of Indian System of Medicine)-cum-Principal of Rajiv Gandhi Government PG Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Paprola. During the meeting, potential collaboration between the two institutions was explored, particularly in the form of faculty and student exchange programs, and the effective implementation of such programs in the near future was envisioned.

The faculty members and students of Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa College had a highly enriching and memorable experience and express their heartfelt gratitude to all faculty members of RGGPGA College—especially Dr. Manik Soni, Reader/Associate Professor of Kayachikitsa postgraduate scholar Dr. Sajan Verma, and Principal Dr. Vijay Chaudhary—for their warm hospitality, generous guidance, and the time and effort devoted to providing an informative tour of the beautiful and efficiently functioning campus.
