The university examinations for the undergraduate Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery (BSRMS) program are primarily governed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and its Board of Unani, Siddha, and Sowa Rigpa (BUSS), and are conducted by affiliated universities and institutes. The university examinations for Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa Rigpa Medical College are coordinated by the affiliating university, Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh.


The annual (regular) university examinations for the 1st Professional UG-BSRMS (academic session 2024–2025), comprising 9 students, and the 2nd Professional UG-BSRMS (academic session 2022–2023), comprising 12 students, were scheduled in February 2026. The examinations were successfully conducted from 23 February to 1 April 2026, covering both theory and practical/viva voce components.


The 1st Professional UG-BSRMS examinations included both theoretical and practical/viva voce assessments in subjects such as History of Sowa Rigpa, Fundamentals of Sowa Rigpa, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Pathology, Materia Medica Part I, Bhoti Language, and Medical Astrology.


The 2nd Professional UG-BSRMS examinations (academic session 2022–2023) covered both theoretical and practical/viva voce components in subjects such as Materia Medica Part II, Pharmacology, Diagnostic Techniques, Clinical Practice, and External Therapies. After completing the month-long examinations, students were given a short break to rest and refresh before progressing to the next professional year.
