Invited lecture and Workshop on Digital Security and Prevention of Digital Violence in Collaboration with Tibetan Women’s Helpline.

In the era of globalization and digitization, cybersecurity becomes paramount. It is important to understand and get oriented to the digital violence, and its impact and prevention. As a part of the annual academic invited guest lecture program, Men Tsee Khang Sowa Rigpa Medical College & Hospital, in collaboration with the Tibetan Women Helpline Initiative, a unit of the Women Empowerment Desk under the Department of Finance, Central Tibetan Administration, organized a workshop on Digital Security in the afternoon of 28th Nov. 2025.

This invited lecture focuses on the general introduction to digital security and how to unitedly end the digital violence against every individual. The speaker, Mr. Rinchen Wangyal from the Tibetan Legal Initiative, spoke on the typology of digital violence, including sexual violence, stalking & surveillance, identity theft & doxing, and cyberbullying. He also briefed on the IT Act 2000, the Indian Penal Code, and the POSH Act. Mr. Rinchen also took the participant to explore various means of how to do criminal reporting, take down mechanisms, and civil remedies in a given scenario.

This lecture series also witnessed active participants in understanding digital violence and how to prevent and overcome such problems, along with a refreshment borne by the Tibetan Women Helpline, creating and imparting a lasting impact on all minds.
