Teacher’s Day Celebrated at Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa Rigpa Medical College and Hospital, Dharamshala

On 5th November 2025, Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa Rigpa Medical College and Hospital celebrated Teacher’s Day, in accordance with the recent directive from the Department of Education, CTA, designating the birthday of His Eminence Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, a renowned Buddhist scholar and who served as Prime Minister at the Central Tibetan Administration from 2001 to 2011 to be marked as Teacher’s Day in Tibetan schools starting this year.

The celebration, organized by the Students’ Committee, was held in the college assembly grounds. The event was graced by Men-Tsee-Khang Director, Mr. Thupten Tsering, General Secretary, Mr. Dhondup Palden, and Cultural Director, Dr. Tsering Norbu, as chief guests.

 The students presented a variety of cultural performances, including Tibetan, Himalayan, and Hindi dances, and offered gifts to all faculty members as a gesture of gratitude. In the afternoon, several games were organized with enthusiastic participation by both teachers and students. The day concluded with the final match of the table tennis tournament, played between teachers and students. Teacher’s Day at Men-Tsee-Khang was filled with joy, appreciation, and a strong sense of community occasion thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present.
