With the start of Auspicious Vesak/Saga month in the Tibetan Lunar Calender, Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College and Hospital organized an event of Recitation of rgyud gsum (the three Tantras from the fundamental Text of Sowa-Rigpa)on the 10th day of Vesak/Saga month that fell on 29th May 2023. All the students and faculty members gathered in the College hall for the rgyud gsum recitation with high energy that lasted from early 8:45 am to 2:30 pm. This oral recitation event was led by Principal, Dr. Ngawang Soepa Bhuita and student representative Ven.Nhima Tamang.
It has been one of the most important spiritual events that coincide with the auspicious Vesak month. The primary aim of the event is to orient and familiarize the students with the concept of oral recitation which is considered one of the most effective traditional learning methods. The event brought immense joy to both the students and faculty members of the college since it gave them the opportunity to engage in such a collective and fruitful activity of going through the text together.
