Men-Tsee-Khang Successfully Conducted a Medical Camp at the First Spring Carnival Dharamshala

On 25-29 February 2024, Himachal Tourism in collaboration with a variety of organizations organized a Spring Carnival at the Mela Ground in Dari, Dharamshala. The festival is intended to elevate tourism and provide an enriching experience for locals and visitors. By showcasing diverse cultures and traditions, including painting, poetry, local food, music, and dance, the event aims to celebrate the diversity of cultures and traditions found in Dharamshala. Additionally, Dharamshala is famous for being the second home of Tibetans in exile. It is a place where Tibetan culture and tradition were preserved and practiced in ways that were distinctive and unique.  In addition to Tibetan handicrafts, cuisine, and cultural performances, Tibetans have contributed to India’s rich cultural heritage.

At the carnival, Men-Tsee-Khang, a charitable institution that preserves and practices the ancient Tibetan system of medicine and astrology, organized a medical camp as well. The medical camp was successively conducted under the guidance of Doctor Tenzin Lungtok of the Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College Hospital and two dispensary staff, Kalsang Choedon and Jigmey Lhamo. By promoting health awareness and well-being among attendees, the medical camp also provided healthcare services to the community and provided medical assistance and information on traditional Tibetan medicine.
