17th June 2024 marks the first commencement of the Mary T Fellowship Program, a collaboration between the University of Minnesota’s College of Education & Human Development and Men-Tsee-Khang College. The program began with an inaugural meeting between the leadership of Men-Tsee-Khang—Mr. Thupten Tsering (Director), Mrs. Tsering Choezom (Vice-Chairman of the High-Level Tibetan Medicine & Astrology Council and HoD of Astrological Science), Mr. Dhondup Palden (General Secretary), Dr. Ngawang Soepa Bhutia (College Principal), and Dr. Namdol Lhamo (Vice-Principal & local program supervisor)—and the team of the Mary T Fellowship Program.
The Mary T Fellowship Program team is led by Dr. Tenzin Namdul, Program Supervisor and Director of the Tibetan Healing Initiative Program at UMN includes Dr. Mary Tjosvold, who founded the Mary T Fellowship Program in partnership with the University of Minnesota, Dr. Marina Aleixo, Director of International Initiatives at the College of Education and Human Development, Ms. Colleen Tjosvold, Mary T Fellowship Board Member, Dr. Nina Asher, Professor in the Program of Culture and Teaching in the Curriculum and Instruction Department, and Mary T Scholars Daniel Bergerson and Olga Natasha Hernández Villar Villar.
As part of this milestone achievement, two Mary T Scholars will spend four weeks at Men-Tsee-Khang conducting workshops and delivering presentations to enhance the capacity building of the faculty, staff, and students in public speaking, research reporting, teaching-learning methods, and many more. Men-Tsee-Khang is delighted to welcome them to our campus and extend a pleasant stay and a fruitful outcome.
