Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College & Hospital actively participated in the “Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0” launched by the Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. This statewide initiative aims to combat tobacco and drug abuse among youth and promote a healthier, addiction-free Himachal. As part of the campaign, a massive anti-tobacco and anti-chitta rally and walkathon were organized in Dharamsala, drawing thousands of students, teachers, officials, and community members.

The students and staff of Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College & Hospital reached Dari Ground, Dharamsala, at 9:00 AM. Participants assembled along with contingents from various educational institutions, carrying banners and posters spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and tobacco. To energize the gathering, members of the Dharamsala Police Department presented an impactful Anti-Tobacco song. The performance highlighted the dangers of addiction and motivated participants to contribute to a tobacco-free future.

The event cantered around the strong and inspiring theme: “Chitta ko Harana Hai – Yuwaon ko Bachana Hai” (The aim is to defeat drugs and protect the youth.)
This message set the tone for the entire rally, reminding participants of the urgent need for collective action against tobacco and drug abuse.

Around 11:00 AM, the Honourable Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu arrived at the venue. His presence significantly boosted the morale of the participants and emphasized the seriousness with which the government is addressing the menace of drug abuse.

Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, thousands of students and staff, including the Men-Tsee-Khang contingent, collectively took an oath against drug abuse and tobacco consumption. The pledge reflected the unity and commitment of the youth towards building a healthier society.
