Professor Dr. Namdol Lhamo Delivers Insightful Session on Sowa-Rigpa Admissions and Curriculum

On September 5, 2025, Professor Dr. Namdol Lhamo, Vice-Principal and Faculty Member of Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College & Hospital, delivered a comprehensive session on “Introduction to Admission in Sowa-Rigpa Colleges (NCISM NEET Sowa-Rigpa UG) & Curriculum.” The session was held as part of a six-day counsellor-oriented workshop organized by the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, from September 1–6, 2025, at the Administrative Training and Welfare Society in Dharamshala.

The session was attended by 22 enthusiastic school counsellors from various Tibetan educational institutions across India, including Sambhota Tibetan Schools, Tibetan Children’s Villages, and Tibetan Homes Foundation.

Dr. Lhamo’s presentation delved into the richness of the Tibetan Sowa-Rigpa medical tradition, while primarily focusing on the NEET Sowa-Rigpa UG entrance examination, detailed admission procedures, curriculum overview, and future career prospects for students in this field. Her session aimed to inform and update counsellors about recent developments and changes in the Sowa-Rigpa programme and its admissions process.

The engaging session not only enhanced the counsellors’ understanding of the programme but also rekindled enthusiasm and commitment among them to actively guide and encourage students toward pursuing studies in Sowa-Rigpa medicine.
