High Altitude Medicinal plants department of Men-Tsee-Khang, in collaboration with the College of Horticulture & Forestry, Hamirpur, under Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, organized a One-Day training cum workshop on Modern Nursery Production techniques with particular emphasis on medicinal tree grafting and budding methodologies at Chauntra Sowa-Rigpa Study & Research on 17th April 2023.

The training was attended by staff of the HAMP department from Dekyiling and Chauntra, along with Doctors and staff from Chauntra Sowa-Rigpa Study & Research and Doctors of the Pharmacy department from Chauntra and Dharamsala. The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Kamal Sharma, Head of the Department of Silviculture & Forestry, and Dr. Yashavi Thakur from the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Hamirpur, and on-site practical training by Mr. Suresh Kumar. Major topics emphasized in the workshop include medicinal trees such as Terminalia Chebula, Emblica Officinalis and their vegetative propagation techniques, including budding and grafting.
